I skipped school today.

I have a serious procrastination problem. SERIOUS. I did nothing all day yesterday, finally read the article I was supposed to read at around 2 in the morning, went to bed at around 4:30, and set my alarm for 9:30 so I could write the paper. I pushed the snooze button until 10, got up and wrote the paper but didn't finish until 2pm - my class starts at 1. And I had a quiz that I hadn't studied for, so I just didn't go to class. BAD, I know. I ended up emailing the paper to my teacher and saying that "something came up". I hope she doesn't read blogs.

I don't know why I do it. It's so bad. I need to figure out a way to fix it - I think I need to get a new desk that I can sit at and work without distractions rather than sitting on the couch trying to work with my dog and the tv nearby. But I still get distracted by the computer - I'm trying to type the paper and I find myself looking at random web pages.

Maybe I have adult ADD.

I went to visit my little half sister tonight - she's three. She's started calling people 'honey', and she uses it at exacty the right time, right when you're getting a little frustrated with her, and you just can't help but laugh when she throws it in. As in:

little one: "Why is chocolate brown?"
me: "Because the beans that they use to make it are brown"
l.o.: "Why?"
me : "Because there are these beans called cocoa beans, that they make chocolate from, and they're brown"
l.o. : "Why?"
me: " Because when the tree grows the chocolate beans they're brown"
l.o.: "Why?"
me : "Because that's just how they grow"
l.o.: "Why?"
me : "Because that's just what color they are"
l.o. : "Why?"
me : "They just are"
l.o. : "Why, HONEY?"

me : (laughing) "You are so cute"
l.o. : yeah.
